Monster, She Wrote
The Women Who Pioneered Horror and Speculative Fiction
By: Lisa Kröger, Melanie R. Anderson
This was an interesting read with a list of women who wrote all sorts of speculative fiction and horror. I knew some famous ones but many were new to me, especially those before 1900. The book explained the type of books, examples, what got them writing, a bit about their life, and additional information if the reader wanted to follow up on a certain person. It was interesting.

I have a huge list of women authors to check out now.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I listened to the audio version which is read by Erin Bennett. She was so great to listen to. Her voice accompanied me on many trips. Thank you Erin!
Ok, this wonderful book that you should've already read shines a light on lady authors of horror, weird fiction, speculative fiction, Gothic and all the good stuff we love.

Each main author had four sections; their background story, the book they are known for, other published works to check out and similar author recommendations. Several of these authors have influenced TV Shows and Movies which Lisa Kroge ...more
