I found this first book decent, especially in the beginning. The other books though,IMHO, should never have been written. They were just tiresome, extrodinarily violent, and,towards the end of the series,innaproprite. Read this book, but leave the others.
I've had this book sitting on my shelf for about six months. I started to read it but I was disappointed to find that it wasn't as intriguing as I'd originally hoped it would be. That being said, I have yet to finish this book and don't know if I will be able to. The writing is fine except I do not like his way of alternating perspectives. I like the technique itself but I wasn't captivated with the way he did it. Really, I would be giving this book 2.5 stars. I liked the idea and the characters

HOLY CRAP!!! I love this!!! I seem to he on a roll on awesome books! Yesss!!! This book hooked me right on the first sentence. I was taken by surprise by how hooked I was with it. The story is great from the start. Who knew that kids could be evil and conniving and.... power hungry.... jeez... but nevertheless the action and suspension kept me hooked. Loved the characters. Even the bad ones.
