[2.5 stars] When I started reading this, I thought the story had great potential. The writing style is very engaging. Plot, background info, and characters' personalities and other tidbits are revealed as the story progressed smoothly and seamlessly. The story is also sprinkled with sizzling sexual tension here and there and this keeps things interesting. The topic (alchemy) is also something quite rare and fascinating.

Satisfying m/m fantasy story, well written and edited. Too bad the sequel is discontinued, although it already counts approx.70k words. Hopefully the author will get back to this series, because it has a nice world-building and interesting characters, enough to achieve a place among the pro-published titles.
