Frankly I found the book incoherent. It argues on the one hand that a final theory of physics is unattainable, because there's no objective way to decide among competing theories (a position they call "model-dependent realism"), and on the other hand, it says that physicists have found such a theory: M-theory. The authors do not acknowledge this apparent contradiction, let alone explain how it might be resolved. (I personally think it can be done, but shouldn't the authors do this for us?) Cruci
