Great book, although some chapters could have profited from a more international lens. For instance, privatization in academic publishing (the topic of chapter 23) is clearly a problem not limited to the United States, Elsevier is a Dutch company after all. There have been numerous international movements like "The Cost of Knowledge" that targeted Elsevier in particular, but also more broad developments like editorial boards resigning and starting new independent Diamond Open Access journals. I've waited a while to find a book that breaks down the wrongs of privatisation and here it is! Cohen has created American focused look into privatisation that can be used to argue against it in others.
