A very good history of the internet from a business and social (as opposed to technical) point of view. I very much agree with his contention that the fundamental rules and social structures have to change for the internet to be something that works for everyone. However, it does not seem likely that any of those things will be possible as long as we live in a fundamentally capitalist society.

Tarnoff clearly lays out the power and monopolies that the big internet players like Google and Facebook have and how our privacy has been diminished, controlled and commodified to the point that it's affecting social and political outcomes.
