especially relevant in 2025 as we see the consolidation of tech ceo power. bit dry in some parts, especially if you aren't familiar with economics, but varoufakis walks us through it. his vision of a sort of high tech council communism as an alternative to technofeudalism is interesting.

i was pretty mesmerized by this the entire time. really fascinating read given the current US administration.
heady stuff. yanis has thought it through. instead of bringing socialism, the end of capitalism brought something worse: feudal rule by the tech-aristocracy. there are possibilities & good alternatives described here & it involves collective action & radical democratization beyond what may be obvious to most. this is an excellent & important book by a badass economist author.
