I am sorry - But this was just not for me.
I loveeed the eloquent word building - but that was about it for me.

First half of this book was so “meh” for me, I almost DNF’d it... but so glad I didn’t because once Lazlo and Sarai meet it was all up hill for me! I love these two and I would freaking die for them!
Minya can take a long walk off of a short cliff and go fly a freaking kite! And do I feel bad I want to throat punch a 6 year old? Hell NO!

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

5 Stars and a broken heart!

Lazlo is the dreamer of my heart!!! I went into this thinking that I probably would not love it but would enjoy the story thoroughly that I would probably be left on a cliffhanger, as this style of writing is Laini Taylor’s signature! I thought this because I really enjoyed her other series The Daughter of Smoke and Bone but I did not LOVE it. With this in mind, I delved deep into the world of one Lazlo Stra

Part 1 was a 5 Star read for me!
But after that it took a different direction from what I had expected and hoped for....

But I have to say beautiful writing but the story wasn't really my thing :(

Guys, can I just say that these books were absolutely FANTASTIC?! I don't know why I was hesitating so much to read these but I completely fell in love with the world and the characters and pretty much everything about this book. I kind of wish there was more to the story especially when Lazlo and the rest go off on that journey at the end - it would definitely be interesting to read more about it. But anyways, I loved this book.

The first book was definitely more of a s

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did. There was a lot of romance in the second half and instalove that I didn't enjoy. This was the reason for my star deduction. I think the romance was cute, if a bit cheesy. I loved the writing, which was really flowery and whimsical. The prologue is one of the best that I've read. My favorite thing was the main character, Lazlo Strange. He's a librarian, obsessed with a lost city, and a love of books. I love the way he looks at the world and d ...more

Such a beautifully written story and amazingly built world. What I found the hardest with this story was the constant questions. Each time I thought answers would come I was just left with bigger questions.

I have no words for how beautiful this book is. Everything, not just the writing, but also the mythology, the characters, the story, the dreams, just everything is perfection. It is so moving.
But then this is Laini Taylor, so it couldn't have been anything less.

Lírico. Mágico.
Y por Dios ese final.
Mi primer libro de esta autora y ciertamente no será el último. ¡A por la segunda parte!
