You know what, even 9 months after I finished reading this book, out of nowhere, I'll start thinking about it. I guess it wasn't as mediocre as I initially thought.
So I'm bumping this up a star.

it was interesting how life sometimes simply gave you a whole new perspective by waiting around long enough for you to see it.
this was my first read by this author and a book club pick, but it has also been on my to-read list for a while so yay that i finally got around to reading it. while it is to be considered fiction, it definitely also had life lessons to be learned vibes. one of the major focuses is on mental health issues, mainly depression and suicidal thoughts, so that may be a trigge ...more

It didn't work for me, this one. The ideas, in theory, resonate very much so. Parallel lives based on choices. Unfortunately this is too in your face, sledgehammered moral messages. All the subtlety of a children's TV show. I raced through in a few hours, there was nothing more than face value messages here for me.
