Wow, what a beautiful book. It's been a while since a book made me cry and as I listened to this on audiobook I was crying in the weirdest situations: doing the washing up, while cycling, painting my nails!
It was great to learn more about Shakespeare's family and that this story was centred on them rather than on him which was very unique. so this was a book club pick and first read by this author. it is considered to be historical fiction but supposedly based on the true story of William Shakespeare and his wife, how they met and got together, his family, and how he becomes who he is. it is funny how he was described growing up his parents and most of the town considered him to be more of a worthless dreamer than a hardworking 'real man' but little did they know who he would become and how successful he would be. the book is defi

This was a tough read...I had to step away from it a few times, it's was so emotional, full of heart wrenching vivid descriptions. But I am glad I got through it, one of those books I'll never forget.
