Interesting and scary book. Easy to follow
The human mind in extreme situations can be so unpredictable and cruel. This story shows you that even young people can be this way. A dark and unsettling story!
Unlike many British people I didn't read this in school and reading it as an adult I just don't get the hype. I was expecting a gradual decline into lawlessness but everything happened very quickly and stayed at that level throughout with just horrible event after horrible event occurring. Both the setup and conclusion were also rushed and I didn't really get any more from reading this than what I already knew from popular culture. Meh.
