I have put off reading this book for a long time, as I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype. It took me quite a few chapters to get into it, but by the middle of the book I couldn't put it down. My biggest gripe has to be Dain, my god is he annoying!!!

I must say that the constant arguing and know-it-all attitude of this books main character does bring it down, yet it's surprisingly entertaining. I did listen to the audio version which could have attributed to the irritating arguing in the book but I'm going to listen to the second book anyway. it's highly predictable, but the fantasy involved in the story does keep it interesting.

Painfully cliché with a Mary sue protagonist. I wasn’t expecting Shakespeare from a romantasy, but a little self awareness would have been nice.
