Such a good book! Although it is predictable in different parts, it doesn't take away from the book in any way, just gives you lots of anticipation. I was 18 years in old when I protested the war in Vietnam and could identify with so much that I read and learned so much that I didn't know. I absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it.

i have read a few other books by this author and while a lot of the time there are very sad and hard moments to read in her books, i would still say most are great books and worth reading. this book was no different. i usually like historical fiction and a majority that i have read is focused on WW2 timeframes, this book was not and set during the Vietnam war. the female main character enlists to be a nurse because her brother goes over there and war heroes are a family tradition (well usually m
