I love Joshua Ferris. And while I didn't love this as much as his first novel, it made me laugh and it made me think. And that's really all you can ask for from a good book. So, read this one. It's about a dentist who finds religion - or not. You won't regret the trip. ...more

Shelves: listened-to-didn-t-read, dark, snark, fiction
Campbell Scott's dry, pleasant, and piercingly sarcastic voice is spot-on for this novel. I highly recommend the audio version. I listened to it on my phone and I hardly paused until I had finished it.

We follow Paul O'Rourke, a dentist plagued with self-doubt and the contradictions of modern life as he discovers someone has stolen his online identity and made him a website, etc. He wonders if this social media savvy, fake version of himself isn't somehow doing better than he is in reality.
