This is not my favorite Dickens (David Copperfield holds that place in my heart) but his unique touches grace the book throughout. The first few chapters are the best with the introduction of the Dombeys and the circumstances of the Dombey children in their world. I always love his humor and his observations on education which are particularly good in this one. This Penguin Kindle edition was excellent with tons of footnotes that were easily accessible.
