This book is "inspired by" the life of Iranian poet Forugh Farrokhzad. By all accounts she had a difficult life - she suffered from discrimination against women, became involved in an unhappy marriage followed by passionate but unfulfilling affairs. She lost custody of her son, was committed for mental problems, and died in a car accident at the young age of 32.
