After reading it's obvious why Song of Solomon is one of Barack's favorite books. I finished it last night and I feel like I need more time to think about it before commiting my thoughts to paper. My initial reaction is to love they way Morrison plays with light in words. There is a duality in her characters, they are both loving and indifferent, kind and cruel, living and dead. I think I liked Beloved better but Pilate is by far my favorite Morrison character. ...more
