I first read this book when I was in the 9th Grade and have lost count of the number of times I have since read it . It is amazing how one can love a character so dislikeable. Scarlett is such a brat but she's right up there with Jo March as one of my favorite book characters. ...more

I didn't want to read it. I've seen the movie many times. I really didn't want to read it. It belonged to my grandmother. It sat on her bookshelf for years. I borrowed it once in 8th grade or so. It was too big and scary for me then. I returned it unread. She passed in 1999 and the book made its way to my bookshelf. It sat there for years daring me to read it. I finally picked it up.
