I thought that this was a fantastic book. And I am looking forward to reading more Kerouac.

I think if I'd read this when I was younger I would've enjoyed it and been able to appreciate it more.
It took me a while to get into it, but once I got into it, it was easy to see why it can be so revered. It was engrossing and at times fascinating. However, towards the last quarter of the book, the fascinating Dean Moriarty gradually became too manic and too often made me wonder if he had some sort of mental illness or just at the extreme end of irresponsibility and recklessness.
