What happens when mothers go to a park with their children? They find other women like themselves who enjoy discussing books that they've read. These 5 women also discovered that they would all like to write and be published. So, that's what they did. They set up a time on Wednesdays when they would meet at the park and critique each other's work. Some did get published & others went to work at a publishing company.

Actually, more of a 4.5-star book. I thought about five, but I decided that its extreme sentimentality -- which, granted, I am usually a big fan of -- might take the half-star away. Still, it's the sort of book that has such wonderful characters, such a rich setting, I almost didn't want to finish it.

I can't say enough about how much I loved this book! I am in awe of these women and hope that I have friendships that last as long as theirs. I wanted to be a fly on the wall and part of their little group. What a beautiful story about 5 strong women. I love the way the author bases each of them after a different book and the way that all weaves together. Their compassion for life makes you think to appreciate what you have this moment. Such a joy to read, I couldn't put it down!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved that the book intermingled the story of the 5 women with the current events and the views of time. I was really inspired by the support that they gave each other through marriage woes, medical issues, and their writing. I think it is the perfect book for any mother especially if you have a great group of friends to share your hopes and dreams with.
