This book is written in the style of "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" (actually I read here on goodreads that this author actually proposed the format but that Brashares was hired by the publisher to write the first books in that style-not sure if it's true but it makes sense I guess.) I think this story is a good cross between The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Breakfast club. It was a fun book to read and the dynamics of the three girls (Birdie, Leeda, and Murphy) was great. They were believable characters. It was a great summer read, and I wish I could have read it out by the pool (unfortunately 2 young kids would never let me). I am probably going to read the other books in the series to see where the story goes from here.
