This book really made me think. Having some definite introverted tendencies myself, it was so nice to hear someone say that those characteristics can actually be a positive thing. I particularly enjoyed the parts about introversion and Asian cultures (I live in Japan), and the suggestions for how a mixed couple,in which one partner is an extrovert and the other is an introvert, can communicate better in spite of different communication styles.

This was a very informative and interesting read. As a clinical psychologist, I was familiar with most of the information presented. Does the author take some liberties with her analyses of psychological studies to make her points? Yes, but she also provides the information in an interesting and easy-to-read format that I appreciated. An interesting look at what qualities an introverted person has and how society should value introverts and extroverts. I'm definitely more of an introvert. I like small groups or one one one situations but dislike parties where I hardly know anyone and big group lunches at work. I listened to the book and sometimes it was a bit hard to follow all the studies, in this case print might work better.
