Some parts of this book made me laugh out loud-I'm thinking Pratchett must be the one with the gift for one liners since I've
read Gaiman before and haven't found him funny in quite the same way. Despite some really funny moments, the book was a little too all over the place for me to say I totally loved it.

Two guys (nearly famous writers) decide to write a book together. You can imagine them falling about laughing at some of the things they come up with, each trying to top the other with the next stunningly clever idea. The result is this book. A collection of deliberately weird, deliberately funny and deliberately clever bits.
This is one book in which you just have to read the footnotes- look for all sorts of oddities including a haiku about putting on your seat belt.

Light and fun, this book reminds me strongly of Douglas Adams and Christopher Moore. Although this is a collaboration between Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimon, the writing style here seemed more Pratchett than Gaimon to me. In any event, the book is a humorous and irreverent telling of the end of the world, complete with pre-teen anti-Christ, witch hunters, angels, demons, devils, and Death, Famine and others. I listened to the wonderfully narrated audio version and it sped up a long drive consid

The antichrist has been born but there is a mixup at the hospital and he ends up with the wrong family. Angel Azaraphel and Demon Crowley try to stop the apocalypse from coming because they enjoy living on Earth. Two witch hunters and the last descendent of Agnes Nutter (witch) also become involved in the story. A fun story.

Reading the reviews for this book I was expecting to be rolling on the floor crying I was laughing so hard, and that just didn't happen for me. I'll preface by saying I'm not a fan of Monty Python, but this story of messengers from Heaven and Hell working to bring about Armaggedon was a little over the top for me. When UFOs are stopping off to deliever messages of peace on the same page where Tibetian Monks pop up (after tunnels throught the center of the Earth) it doesn't quite work for me.

I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would. Both of these authors are excellent writers, and the book was indeed clever. I just had a little bit of trouble following the different threads of the story. EBN25 Category: A book written by two or more authors
