I'm not quite sure how to rate this one. I think Bohjalian is an incredible writer and in this case he is so descriptive that I was uncomfortable with listening to the atrocities of war and genocide that I almost gave up on this book. I plowed through but not sure it was worth it.
If you are into historical fiction that exposes you to think you may not know, in this case a relatively unknown aspect of WWI in which the Turks tried to wipe out the Armenian race, then this book might be for you.

I loved everything about this book- the changing points of view and times, the characters, setting, just everything. I didn't know much about what was going on in Turkey in 1915 and this was certainly a good lesson. I highly recommend this lovely book.
