Although I didn't at first warm up to Agatha Raisin, she began to grow on me by the end of the book, rather like the village of Carsely grew on Agatha. So, I will continue with the series, as I see some fun reading possibilities in this comfy mystery story. I love Beaton's Hamish Macbeth series set in Scotland, and I can ascertain the same quirkiness I enjoy in those books in the Agatha Raisin ones.

This was a quick read. I have read several other books in this series but it was good seeing where Agatha came from and how she ended up in the small village of Carsley in the Cotswolds of England. Agatha has a hard time fitting into village life where even her neighbor, who has lived there for 20 years, was considered an incomer.
