Betsy isn't having a good week from being laid off to getting hit by a car to waking up in the morgue.
It turns out that she's a vampire, and not any ordinary one. She can go into churches, wear crosses, holy water doesn't affect her (well unless you count fits of laughter and sneezes). She can go out in the sun, all the things that normal vampires can't do. Why? because she's prophesied vampire Queen.

***Possible Spoilers***Well, this was pretty much what I expected. At times cheesy, trying to be a little to "cool" for it's own good. But it defintely had some funny moments and even though I don't exactly LIKE Betsy as a person, I think the books could get better if she grew some as a character. I'm not too sure I have faith that may actually happen in the series, because it's so light hearted, the character development is pretty flat and relies too much on sarcasm. OK, I'll admit it I do some "fluff" reading. I'm not that into romance, but this series is fun with characters I want to read about again.
The new "Vampire Queen" doesn't really want the job, in fact, she would rather be shopping for shoes. A snotty Sookie for fans of the Charlaine Harris series. ...more
