It's been a year (or almost) since I've read a Sookie book and I think the time apart was good for us. After some time away I found myself really enjoying this, the 9th installment of the Southern Vampire series. For those of you who have only watched HBO's True Blood, book Sookie is much more likable than show Sookie and I think I had forgotten that.

Wow! Just another spectacular book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, they are getting more and more action packed with each book. I love how Charlaine Harris tells her stories, there are so many interesting characters and you really get to know them all.
Well let’s see if I can review this without spoiling it for anyone else, because let’s face it, the mystery is half the fun with the Sookie novels.

The sticker on the front of my copy reads " We can't fake it. NZ blood needs you". A piece of clever placement advertising, and a comment perhaps on the success of this series that they think we'll all go out and donate after reading the book. I wonder if they have it on the tv version as well!
