Just seen the movie which reminded me how much I liked this book.

I really enjoyed this little book. The story follows the reason that Ram Muhammad Thomas is able to answer all of the questions on an Indian quiz show. The highly unlikely hero is an orphan who has made his own way in the world with no formal schooling. A vivid portrait of life in India for such a child.
