Based on the illustrations it's not a book I would choose but it was on the Beehive Award Nominee shelf so I checked it out. What an amazing inspirational story this is! Musical instruments were literally recycled from trash in one of the poorest slums of Paraguay. An orchestra was formed and has now performed concerts all over the world.

This is a cute little book about an actual event, in a town in Paraguay built on a landfill. It's an uplifting story, but I wonder whether it would really appeal to children or not. For an adult, it was a very quick read. And the artwork is stellar! Sort of collage-y, which fits perfectly with the content.
