This Stephanie Plum mystery finds the bounty hunting heroine trying to bring in Maxine, an elusive, bail skipping waitress. Stephanie gets into her usual amount of trouble with help from her ex-hooker friend, Lula, and a new friend, transvestite, Sally Sweet. The book is just as engaging and humerous as the previous Stephanie Plum adventures, and this book has the added bonus of seeing things heat up between the heroine and Joe Morelli when Stephanie stays with the tempting cop after her apartme ...more

I was all set to give this book a trash review at first- reading it straight after some good literature really highlighted the sassy language, exaggeration for humour, sheer dumbness of the heroine, the overdrawn sexiness of the two male interests and complete unlikeliness of the plot. But before the fist hundred pages were up, the crit-o-meter turned itself off, and the hamster, the crazy transvestite, the racy grandmother and all the other characters somehow said "Loosen up, just read the stor ...more

Another crazy adventure from the Stephanie Plum series.

Once again, I have fun reading about our slightly clue-less bounty hunter Stephanie as she try to look for her bail skipper. As usual, for me, it's the secondary cast of characters that make these books interesting, from crazy Grandma Mazur to ex-hooker Lola, from sexy Joe Morelli to dangerous Ranger. I love the addition of the drag-queen Sally.

Stephanie Plum is on the trail of Maxine Nowicki who was arrested for stealing her boyfriends car. Of course this being Stephanie the search isn't easy and involves a car explosion, counterfitting, a drag queen and Stephanie temporarily moving in with Morelli. Lots of fun. ...more

The fourth of the Stephanie Plum series. I love the new characters. I love that the characters and love seeing what they are getting into. I think that Lula is my favorite besides Grandma Mazur. Stephanie is always getting herself in trouble, but finding the person she needs. I really was surprised at the ending as I was thinking it was going to be another person.

I liked the forward motion with Morelli, but the case itself didn't really get me to engrossed. I will always love these books for the occasional one-liners (usually issued by Grandma Mazur) and the fact that I can pound one out in a day and feel relaxed at the end. ...more

Another great book in the bounty hunter series. It had been awhile since I ready any so I had completely forgotten who Morielli was. I wanted her to get together with Ranger and was surprised by the cop, but all's well that end's well. ...more
