When this book first started I was so confused I thought I had missed a book. After talking to a few people and poking around on goodreads I learned that I had not skipped a book but that Charlaine Harris had told some of the back story of this book in a short story collection called "Bite." (or Bitten...something like that) Why she decided to do this is beyond me. It made the book feel choppy and disjointed. While I still enjoyed the latest Sookie installment, I didn't like it as much as previo ...more

Each book in this series draws me in further and further. I just love it. Charlaine Harris knows how to create characters that you like and love to hate. She makes them interesting and believable. I also find from book to book the stories are getting better and better. It has gotten to the point where I’m left wanting more and more as the books are ending. :0)

Why do I read this trash?

Though as I read more, I will admit to liking it better than the Anita Blake series. Yes, among liberals Anita Blake is more popular, due to its decreased sexism/racism and that the protagonist is polyamorous, but at least this book is about vampires. Rather than a supernatural erotica series that Anita Blake has turned into. Anyway, there is a pretty strong plot in these books, which makes the writing endurable. Only two more books left in the series.

Sookie is off to another adventure, and boy, the girl sees far too much action and hurt all in a matter of days. I winced every time she suffers another bite, bruise, scrape, etc.

I have feeling there must be a novella between this book and the previous full-length novel, but I'm too lazy to look for it, so I just started this one.

Quinn the were-tiger is a sexy addition to Sookie's increasing number of interested supernatural guys (the attraction partly explained as her having

Sookie never disappoints on the entertainment and light reading front. Just what I needed after the epic Lonesome Dove.

This book was interesting. I loved all the twists and how things began to make sense from the other books. I can't wait to see what other crazy things Sookie and her many suitors will get into. I am still on the fence as to who I would like to see her with. ...more
