I hate how she begins her novels. They drive me nuts! They make me want to skip ahead and read the secret. They kill my ocd and they draw me in so that I have to read them until at least the secret is known. And I hate how I HAVE to read whatever she writes. Who am I kidding? I love them to bits. This was my least favourite of all I’ve read though. Most characters were hateable. Even when I was supposed to love them or feel sorry for them. They all had such glorious faults which I’m sure was the

Books that have received rave reviews and come highly recommended are opened with a bit of trepidation, as I so want to like the book and be a part of its cheering crowd, but there exists that possibility that I won't feel the love. Well, I can assure you that I feel the love for The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty and am happy to join its fan club. It's an emotionally difficult read due to the heartache and loss the characters suffer, but it offers a gleam of hope through the hurt. No one wa

This was the choice of my book club for September. While I enjoyed the story from a purely plotting perspective, overall the book didn't capture me. I felt that the characters were largely annoying, the coincidences too often a driver of the plot, and the symbolism too heavy. Many in my club adored the book though, so perhaps I'm just too serious or expect to much from what was, at heart, a light book.

I definitely enjoyed this audiobook. We have several alternating views from varying characters that eventually come together in the end. It's an interesting look at how even minor decisions can impact the outcome of not only our own life, but of those around us. This book is interesting because I think a reader to could relate to a piece of each of the characters and not just identify with one over another.

A good holiday read, and one which I found handy one night when I couldn't sleep: enough to be entertaining, not enough to need too much thinking once you've sorted out the characters and how they fit together. There is a lot of inner dialogue in this book, looking back I think that is how much of the story is told, and it is cleverly done. There are some wry comments on relationships, and marriage in particular, interwoven with the story. Some authors would have finished several chapters before

I can't say I ever really wanted to read this book, but Liane Moriarty kept popping up and I figured what the heck. So then it sat on my TBR list for two years, and even when I got the audio book I still dragged my feet.
I will give kudos to the narrator, she made me laugh, and I was okay with Cecelia. I really didn't want to go through the wronged women story with Tess, but it was sad granny that really killed me. I can't say I cared about any of them, but I've just sworn off YA for all the ang ...more

I do enjoy domestic fiction and this one is edgy and spellbinding. The book was hard to put down, but at the same time I needed to put it down in order to think about it and absorb. These interesting characters could very well be my neighbors or friends.
