Jack is an unemployed computer programmer turned stay at home dad. His wife Julia is working on a project to use a swarm of nanobots as a camera that could be used during medical procedures. Julia has started acting odd and when Jack is hired to help out her company he discovers why. Most of the book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen next. My only problem with the book is that the beginning setup was too long and not very exciting

Prey is a scientific thriller about how nanotechnology can be misused and create something dangerous. I felt there was more scientific jargon than the average person needs (or can handle?), so I gave it a weak 4*. But I will keep getting chills whenever I think about how much possibility exists in the scientific world for experiments like Crichton portrayed in this book - or how many may be going on right now!

I really liked this one, which surprised me given that it was about genetic engineering and biotechnology which isn't my favourite subject on the planet. It was easy to follow and didn't get bogged down in the science/technology behind everything. A thoroughly good read.

Interesting sci-fi/horror book. Probably not to everyone's taste but I quite enjoyed it. Can see it made into a dodgy movie though!
