"That is the important thing ... To feel happiness and then to remember it."

Well, that works for me. This book is so soothing, Precious Ramotswe is so restful, such a lovely, comfortable read. There are several nasty crimes that get sorted out along the way, but it's the characters that make these such an enjoyable read, & the love of country that shines through the dust of Botswana. I don't know about those blue shoes but this book certainly gave me the happiness - I must remember that.

It's been a long time since I have read anything in this series. I forgot about how I felt when I read these books. #1) The setting of this series is very unique. This is the 8th No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency and one of my favorites, because it features Grace Makutsi, with all her frailties. She finally has a fiance, but will she be able to keep him or drive him away with her prickly personality.
And then there are shoes and in particular some beautiful blue shoes that feature strongly in this book.

Not as good as the previous two enteries in the series. Mma Ramotswe has to deal with trouble at a game park, a doctor taking faulty blood pressure readigns and a blackmailer but the cases don't tie togetehr as well as in some of the other books. ...more
