How clever! It may just be my personal style preferences, but I'm enjoying this much more than the Gregory Maguire I've read--funnier, more engaging, just as clever, but more modern. Nursery rhymes vs. fairy tales.

Simon Prebble is an excellent reader for audiobooks. He does voices and accents in a way that feels pretty smooth and natural and he is able to convey the subtle humor of Fforde's novel. I enjoyed the nursery references and the wacky world where nursery characters are real and yet recognized as nursery characters. I'll definitely read more of this series (or, more likely, continue to listen to it in audiobook format).

It was an okay read for me. I think that I had too high of expectations for this book after reading the Well of Lost Plots. It did get better for me as the story progressed, but I never fell in love with it.
I did not laugh as much as I do with the Thursday Next series as well. It still had some clever parts though.
