As with any Nicholas Sparks book, this had a lot of cheesy parts, and most of it read like a movie. It was somewhat predictable as I figured out what the major conflict would be long before it was revealed. But I think this book was still worth reading. There were so many lessons to be learned from this book - about love and parenting and especially being aware that things aren't necessarily always as they seem. Okay, I admit it. I love tearjerkers -- of which this is a prime example. Don't read it if you don't like crying, don't like discussions of faith, or don't like sentimentality. In those situations, you'd probably call this a one-star read. Otherwise, bring a tissue box with you.

I loved this book. With all Nicholas Sparks books you will need a kleenex, but it will be so worth the cry. The characters in this book touched me and reminded me of me at Ronnie's age (minus the rebellion) and I enjoyed watching her grow and learn about herself. This book kind of reminded me of a Sarah Dessen book.
