FitzChivalry has grown up a lot since book 1 and he's matured even further in this book. A fantastic story with twists and turns that are so very engaging that I could barely set this one down to rest. That ending though!! This is not a trilogy where you want to take breaks in between books even if they are all quite sizeable. Brilliant! ...more

The second book in Robin's Hobb Farseer trilogy was just as engaging as the first. The characters were real and most of them grew in the book. There was a new character introduced that added a lot to the story. Like many second books in a series, there were a lot more questions and obstacles introduced than resolved, but it left me really wanted to pick up the third book immediately.

I love Fitz, and watching him try to figure where he fit in and to make sense of his relationships with other characters was riveting. I really couldn't put it down. A rare 5 stars from me.
