I really enjoyed this book. It's the story of a young girl searching for answers about her deceased mother. The author does so much more with the story than most books on the same subject and her writing is amazing. I think we did if for book club, but I'm not sure.

All done. Not my genre of books (I'm not much for chicklit, and though this is deep I'd still classify it as one). It's a good book, but won't leave a lasting impression on me, though. This is about a young girl who lives with her distant and abusive father. She believes she is responsible for her mother’s death. She takes a journey with her Negro housekeeper, after the housekeeper has a run-in with some white men and she is arrested. The journey takes them to a beekeeper and her sisters.

Sweet story about a girl growing up in an abusive home in the South

Just a beautiful book!
