This is a short story that kind of goes along with “Eclipse” by Stephenie Meyer. It’s written from the perspective of Bree Tanner one of the young ones that Victoria created to attack the Cullen’s.
I specifically remembered Bree as I felt bad for her when I read Eclipse, so it was nice to read her story even though you knew it was going to have a tragic ending. I thought it was very interesting to see what the young ones were going through and how they were brain washed to attack the Cullen’s. K ...more

This is a nice quick read for fans of the Twilight books. As with Twilight, I enjoyed it while I was reading it, but I don't think I'll ever feel the need to reread it. I enjoyed knowing Bree's back story and more about the life of a regular "newborn" vampire since Bella really didn't experience any of that.
As a Buffy fan, I've always felt that Meyer's "sparkling" vampires were one of the lamest parts of her vampire lore (especially how the effect is shown in the movies). Bree's group of newbie ...more

Life before Riley had taken Bree Tanner to see “her” (their maker) was hard to remember. She knew she needed to hunt, to feed, to survive and for Bree that meant to hide. Something about her seemed different than the others, she felt different from the others so she kept herself separate, hiding behind “Freaky Fred” until she met Diego. He seemed to understand the differences too. Trusting only herself and Diego was going to be difficult especially when Diego didn’t return on night, but was Rile

This was a nice "Twilight Fix," although it took me a bit to remember who Bree was. I do think that this story will most likely be incorporated into the movie so I think it was definitely worth the read.
I will have to admit it took me until about 1/2 way through before I really got into the story, but I loved the ending especially as the fight got closer. It was really interesting to see her side of the story and how she saw the Cullens and the Volturi.

3 stars, more like 2 3/4. Fluff and took me a while to get into it. It wasn't very telling the story until about 1/2 way through, not a good thing since it is less than 200 pgs. Overall though, got my Twilight fix for the week and it picked up quick. Must keep in mind it is young adult. Interested to see if she is going to do novellas on any other characters. I would read novellas by some of the main players in the stories if she wrote them.

AB-I was still sad at the end, even though I knew what was going to happen. Now that I've read this, the Twilight Saga makes just that LITTLE bit more sense :)
About a day to read (maybe a tad more :P)
