This book is a great snapshot of its time and place in history. Imagine walking into your "local" and finding Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe and the Fish, and Jimi Hendrix all in there eating shrimp and downing pitchers of sangria and bottles of tequila. It was in the late sixties and early seventies when artists of different codes all seemed to be in and around the Hotel Chelsea and became the group of people Patti mixed with.
