Eve and her team investigate a series of vicious home invasions targeting married couples after the husband in the most recent attack is killed.
A dark and distressing storyline with an excellent climax and resolution. There is no doubt that Eve is in her element in the interrogation room. That said, the pacing does lag somewhat in the middle with the sections dedicated to the renovations at casa Roarke - what is it with Nora and her remodeling fetish?

This one was really interesting as it comes to the pathology of the killer. I really have to wonder how J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts comes up with this stuff! The killer didn't seem like a likely suspect to me at first until Eve started digging deeper. Really twisted but interesting stuff! I just can't believe that 44 books in and I'm still just as intrigued with this series as I was in the beginning!
