Gimme book 3 now!...Please?

Such a complex layering of plot and things are just getting hotter in this second book of the trilogy. Despite the multiple perspectives, the book was easy to read and follow along. In between chapters, there are short essays / journal entries by the Thunderhead which I found to be very interesting in a philosophical/contemplative way - mostly about people and the world. The twists were masterful and made you not to want to put the book down. A smashing read that renders me speechless but I'm so

Supposedly, I'm reading this as a read-a-long with my 11-year-old. But let's be real--I've gotten ahead of him on this series because I'm enjoying these books so much. And because the ending is a cliff-hanger, I'm moving right along to book 3 of the trilogy.
These are not stand-alone. The trilogy goes together and you should read Scythe before starting this one.

This continuing chapter in the story of Rowan and Citra, now Scythes Lucifer and Anastasia, is just as wonderful as the book that introduced them to us, maybe even a bit better. They are each trying in their own, very different ways, to help set right the terrible situation caused by the so-called "New Order" Scythes, many of whom are corrupt and get great pleasure from taking lives. Again, how Citra and Rowan think about what is going on, each trying to figure out what they should do, is a big

The second in the series, every bit as good as the first. `Written as both a narrative and in the thoughts of "Thunderhead" Rowan having failed to become a scythe is instead a scythe renegade wreaking his own form of Justice in an attempt to change the Scythedom. However he is not the only one and the action comes thick and fast. Schusterman writes a narrative that takes the reader along with it

I like my books to have real endings and not cliffhangers. I know this is a trilogy but Scythe was so beautifully executed and then we have this one...
There were so many things going on at once, which kind of got meshed together at the end but at what cost?
Unless you read The Toll, you won’t feel satisfied. Perhaps it was done on purpose, but still, sometimes you want to finish a book and have at least a sense of mini-closure and not everything up in the air at the end.

To be honest, i thought it started off a little slow. It picked up and i got to the point where i had to keep reading.
The things i loved about Scythe, it’s commentary on humanity and society, were once again present. This time though we delve deeper into this world and into the mind of the Thunderhead. Although the action took a little time to build, it did not disappoint in the end.
