This is an absolutely superb book that intertwines the lives of 12 different women, all at different points in their colourful and rich lives, that demonstrates the breadth of experience that women in the UK and elsewhere can have, and not all of it good, or even neutral. The style of writing is a little odd as there is very little in the way of punctuation but for me this worked as I tend to be a pretty fast reader and often ignore it anyway.
