I found this to be a very interesting and mostly enjoyable read, though occasionally mildly irritating in minor respects. Written before I was born, Ringworld stands the test of time remarkably well...if often feels so contemporary, in fact, that I had a hard time giving Niven grace for the inevitable gaps in his knowledge and outdated ideas. The book description, while brief, gave a hint of an interesting interstellar adventure. It was quite interesting except for the twist about one of the team members. Without giving too much away, I just thought that it went a bit tangential from 'science fiction' to the realm of 'fantasy' which I did not appreciate in this book context.
Otherwise, I enjoyed the characters (aliens and humans and their developing relationship) and narrator did a fairly good job of keeping me eng ...more
