What a wonderful book! Written in a journal style, the life of Sara Prine came alive. By the end of the novel, I felt like I knew Sarah and her family. I cried when she cried and rejoiced when she did. She was really a very inspiring character.
Definitely recommend if you like historical fiction stories with a strong female characters that do not mind breaking the mold of what women were supposed to be.

My book group read this book. It's a fictionalized version of the author's family stories about her great grandmother and the settlement of the Arizona territories. It's very well written and beyond exiting. ROMANTIC! ACTION PACKED! FULL OF ACTION AND DANGER! Think Lonesome Dove with a woman as the hero.
I was hooked early on, and blasted through the second and third books of the series. GREAT READS! ...more

Review to come. For now, I'll just say I LOVED IT and didn't want to put it down once I started.
