I listened to the audiobook of this with my ten-year-old at the recommendation of my thirteen-year-old. Both children adored the book and were very engaged with the story. As the adult reader, I found it entertaining, but very difficult to suspend disbelief through the outrageous ending. Still, the author did a nice job creating a family drama with interesting, if sometimes annoying, characters.

This was a very entertaining young adult mystery/thriller. I read it in one sitting and stayed up late into the night to finish. I haven't done that with a book in a long time. Although the characters all had their flaws, I liked all three of the story grandchildren and was rooting for them to solve the mystery. Some of the twists were a bit obvious to me, but others did catch me by surprise. Overall, it was a fun and engaging mystery that was perfect for taking my mind off the real world. ...more

This was a book of strong characters and a "not too veiled" mystery . Aubrey was my favorite cousin and multiple characters in the book were not who they seemed. Donald seemed particularly dispicable although there were several competing characters for the "worst person." ...more
