Re-Read April 2022: Rounding up my rating to 5-stars. This is fantastic! And still agree 100% with the review below.
Original Review: **4.5 stars**

First 5 star read of 2019. Sanderson has a way of making you think that the story is going to go one way (and sometimes it does, but then it doesn’t happen in quite the way you imagined).
I’ve never been much of a fan of the science fiction genre, I’ve read some and enjoyed them but for the most part I far prefer fantasy and urban fantasy. However if this is an example of what is out there in the Sci Fi genre I will be reading a lot more of them.
