This is the second book in the Skyward series. Spensa is flung into a whole new world in this second book in the series. While I missed the characters from the first books, it was good to find out more about the universe beyond the confines of the protective layer around Detritus. Spensa makes all new friends, and some more enemies, of course. I'm obsessed. Sanderson, you finally got me man. I can't stop thinking about this series and I eagerly await the rest!

Suffers a little from middle-book syndrome and I miss all the characters we met in book #1. But good character development for Spensa here and good broadening of the world. Actually slower paced than the first one, but in a way that works pretty well. Good reveals, enough politics to be interesting but not overly complex. An easy read and well done, very solid. The only unfortunate thing is that now I have to wait for book #3!
