Oh my god, this was so funny! I've never been a twitterer, and I don't have cable. That makes this novel the first time I've heard/read any of the things his Dad says. I found that I could usually hear one of three people saying this stuff in my head: my Dad, my fiancé, and soon to be Step-Father-in-law. However, every time I could hear Klaus saying one of the anecdotes, it had a huge German accent which made it just that much funnier.

This book was HILARIOUS!!!! I read the entire book, in one sitting, alound to my husband! At some points I was laughing so hard I was crying and couldn't catch my breath to finish the sentence. We have a relative like this in the family, which made the stories that much better. My husband and I also loved the short-lived sitcom based on this book and wish they would put it back on. In all seriousness, what came across loud and clear, was that deep-down, this was a father who was incredibly suppo

This book had me laughing out loud so many times, that I lost count. I think I found this book so amazing because it was easy to relate too. Even though you may not have a father as extreme in his advice and swearing as Justin’s you may know people who are similar or have a more toned down version as a parent yourself.

As I expected, only some of this book made me LOL, just like the Twitter account - I laugh at approximately half the tweets. I was surprised that this book was not only a collection of tweets but also the author's brief memoir of his dad. I thought it would basically be the Twitter account on paper.
I was tempted to give this book four stars, since some stuff was really funny, and it was nice to find out his dad really isn't just a big jerk; he's a pretty good guy who loves his son, but some stuf ...more

This book was highly enjoyable. I immediately thought of people I would share it with. My siblings of course! The only thing that didn't quite all flow was the fact that Mr. Halpern (senior) was portrayed as an educated professional. His vocabulary which was generously sprinkled with the "f" and "sh" words, just doesn't seem to match his social standing. The gist of what he said and the ideals behind it all make sense, are down to earth and he is a very caring and funny person, if not one with v

This book should have translated perfectly to the audio format, but somehow it didn't quite work. I think the anecdotes were often too short and the chapter titles too long to properly entertain. I also think maybe the author should have read this one himself. The reader gave a sort of forced voice to the father's words that made it seem more ridiculing than I think the book actually intended. Ultimately, the book was pretty funny and surprisingly touching in its own way, but I should have read

This book was short and just hilarious. I usually read when I eat, but it was impossible with this book. I was laughing so hard, I nearly choked a few times. Really made me reconsider my kinder, gentler parenting style. Seems like I could maybe just cuss and say exactly what I think to my kids...it could work.
I would heartily recommend this book for a bout of good belly laughs (as long as you are not easily offended by course language, of course).
