I don't know if all bibliophiles enjoy books that are about reading itself, but I can imagine that there are quite a few of us that do. It took me several tries to get into this book. Overall, this felt like a creative writing project more than a cohesive novel. The author seems to have a few ideas for characters, but couldn't quite string together a story. Then, she came up with the frame of a "mysterious" reading list of eight books that various characters start reading for various reasons.
I don't really understand how much buzz this book received. It's fine. There's nothing horrible about it. But it's bland. Forgettable.

It was ok. I did finish this, but it didn't really excite me. I understand how others have found this heartwarming, but unfortunately I got to the stage where I was hoping to get to the end of the list, as it was clear where it was all heading.
